Bobbi Brown - The New Mauve Face Palette

While running out of Neiman Marcus after having put a huge dent in my bill, a tried hard to not go pass the Bobbi Brown counter. After spotting three new lip balm colors, the sales associate told me about the new Mauve Face Palette they'd just gotten in. When I saw it, I couldn't help but fall in love. Perfect for Fall, the palette features all new/exclusive shades for lips, eyes, and cheek. Mauve is NOT a favorite color of mines. Mauve is a cross between a dirty purple with a hint of gray or bluish undertones. It does nothing for my complexion. But this palette has changed my mine about the dredful color. Each shade is warmed with brown undertones to make it easier to wear. I love the Chocolate Mauve shadow. It's a warm/cool chocolate shade with a hint of violet. Divine! The Mauve blush is simply stunning and will look great with my favorite fall shades of charcoal gray and chocolate brown.

Artistry Essentials

Hello All! We're back! We've been gone for a while working a lot of makeup assignments and been having a lot of fun. In the middle of all of the chaos, we found an Artistry Essentials ad in an Allure Magazine featuring Sarah Jessica Parker.


From the description from the ad, the skin care line piqued our curiousity.

Not available in stores, it's only available through Quixtar (an ecommerce site). Well, needless to say, we tried it out. There are two systems, hydrating and balancing. Each system contains a cleanser, a toner, and a moisturizer with SPF 15. In addition to the two systems, there are three other products, Soothing Creme to calm irritated skin, Moisture Plus for extra hydration, and Anti Blemish to fight that "god-awful" pimple.

When we tried the balancing system, it was a very nice and simple cleansing system. Not too complicated or fussy. And quite economical considering how expensive skin care can be. The complete three-piece set is about $47. We also bought the Soothing Creme ($22) to use as a night moisturizer. It's a very clean, moisturizing, and simple and great for all skin types.

The verdict: We will continue to use this and will use on our makeup assignments. Good and solid skin care line.
